Manager of Airport Programs and Industry Affairs

The Canadian Airports Council (the Canadian Division of the Airports Council International - North America) seeks a Manager of Airport Programs and Industry Affairs. The successful candidate will primarily provide project management and communications support to CAC senior staff in support of the organization’s committees and government affairs initiatives.

Reporting to the president and supporting senior staff/technical committees, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development of materials for member and public consumption. This includes management of the association’s internal web site for committee documents and coordination of projects such as the association’s new airport safety audit program.

Responsibilities 
  • Provide support to CAC vice presidents and technical committee as needed
  • Management of the Canadian Airports National Audit (Safety) Program (CANAP)
  • Manage compilation of the association’s monthly report to member CEOs on association activities
  • Manage the Airport Link – an internal Web site for technical committee discussions and documents
  • Support conference and meeting program planning
  • Coordinate requests to meet with elected officials and other public office holders
  • Various other projects to support committee work and agendas

Qualifications and Experience: 
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management, communications or another related field
  • Aviation sector and/or association experience, knowledge of government workings are assets
  • Unencumbered ability to work with government officials, including public office holders
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using Web tools and Web content management systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience and comfort working in a small team environment
