Lynne Denison Foster, BCAC Lifetime Achievement Award (2012) |
Lynne has been an instructor in the aviation industry for over 40 years, beginning with PWA and Canadian Airlines. After leaving Canadian Airlines training department, Lynne was instrumental in bringing the fledgling Aviation Operations programs here at BCIT to life - first Airport Operations, followed closely by the Airline and Flight Operations program. She was the first Chief Instructor for both programs, when after 8 years she decided to act on her succession plan (and first love) by returning to full-time teaching. Lynne has always maintained a high standard for industry education resulting in significant positive impact on many Canadian Aviation Professionals, many of whom were on hand at the Silver Wings banquet to wish her the best as she continues to train and educate others who share her passion for aviation.
Congratulations Lynne!

Other experiences that enrich student learning and opportunities include networking functions, guest speakers and career/job search events for aviation, which have been held at the Aerospace Campus as an easily accessible location for all. Each of these events and functions links classroom learning to real-world application while creating opportunities for students to meet and perhaps explore concepts and application with current subject matter experts.
Of course, these opportunities would not happen without the support and generosity of many industry partners, subject matter experts, and guest instructors. Thank you to each of the experts and industry partners who have contributed so much time and effort to making these programs both interesting for the students and current and useful to industry.
