Congratulations Vanessa Griffiths

BC AVIATION COUNCIL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BCAC announces appointment of new Executive Director, Vanessa Griffiths, who brings more than 13 years of aviation experience to the role. From her first introduction to the BC Aviation Council when she was a student in the BCIT Flight and Airport Operations program, Vanessa Griffiths has appreciated being part of a larger community of aviation enthusiasts and businesses. She is now taking on a leading role in the industry organization as its new Executive Director. “We are delighted that Vanessa has agreed to be our senior administrator in this significant 75th anniversary year,” said Mark Duncan, Chair of the BCAC. “As a commercial pilot and most recently as a manager of over 2700 volunteers at the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, Vanessa brings both aviation and project management experience to the role.” As Executive Director, Vanessa will be responsible for representing the aviation and aerospace industry in British Columbia to various levels of government, and in raising the profile of the industry and its importance to the economy throughout the province. “I am passionate about aviation and leadership,” said Griffiths. "I'm excited to bring my skills and experience to BCAC and in particular to ensuring that we continue to support the education and training of youth in this key industry. I look forward to meeting many of our sector's leaders and future leaders at this year's 75th anniversary Silver Wings Awards in October and hope that anyone with an interest in aviation will contact me with their ideas and comments.” BCAC Chair Mark Duncan added, "We'd also like to thank outgoing Executive Director, Teara Fraser, for her invaluable contributions to the organization over the past 18 months. We are most fortunate that she will continue to support the council as Strategic Advisor."
