The Vancouver AirportAuthority has an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Capital Asset Analyst.  Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, the successful candidate will apply their knowledge, technical and analytical skills to manager the Authority’s fixed asset system. 

Key responsibilities include:

·         Developing and enhancing models for the purposes of classifying, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and depreciating the Authority’s fixed assets
·         Analyzing and explaining variances between budgeted and actual depreciation and capital spending
·         Ensuring the Authority’s capitalization policy is up-to-date
·         Reviewing capital expenditures to ensure that they are in line with current GAAP
·         Providing financial advice to departments, working groups, senior management and the Board of Directors



Key qualifications include:

·         B.Comm/BBA undergraduate degree, or equivalent, and a professional accounting designation
·         Current knowledge of fixed asset accounting and reporting standards
·         Well-developed analytical skills obtained through previous work experience in accounting or finance
·         Attention to detail
·         Ability to work with multiple priorities under tight deadlines
·         Diplomacy, initiative, and solid communications skills
·         Expert-level knowledge of Excel, as well as working knowledge of Word
·         Knowledge of Maximo and Oracle financial systems, including Discoverer is highly desirable
