New Posting - Airport Manager

The Town of The Pas is currently recruiting for the permanent full time position of Airport Manager.  The Town of The Pas has a base population of approximately 6,000 (with an additional 3,000 residents located in the surrounding areas of RM of Kelsey, Clearwater Lake, Rocky Lake).
 
The Airport Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective day to day operations of the Airport to the satisfaction of the community and key stakeholders and in accordance with Transport Canada and Canadian Aviation Regulations.  The Airport Manager will ensure airport activities fulfil community requirements through effective budgeting and cost controls, sufficient staffing levels, continuous maintenance and accurate reporting of service and facility use.
 

Preference will be given to those candidates that possess the following qualifications:
                                   
Minimum of a grade 12 education; Aviation Management degree preferred.  An equivalent combination of schooling, training and experience will be given consideration.Possession of certificate of proficiency in Radio – Aeronautical or ability to obtain one.Valid Driver’s License required.Working knowledge of Airfield Maintenance practices.Excellent organizational skills, good written and verbal communication and computer skills are essential.Ability to train and supervise staff in the operation and maintenance of Airport equipment.Ability in preparing and administering revenue and operational budgets.Ability to interface with Federal, Provincial and Municipal Government Departments and Agencies.Must be able and willing to handle the physical requirements needed to complete all the duties of the position.Satisfactory results from a Criminal Records Check, Vulnerable Persons & Child Abuse Registry Check. 
 
 Summary of responsibilities include:
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the airport on a daily basis.Ensure all functioning of the airport complies to stated Transport Canada standards and applicable Federal and Provincial legislation in order to maintain certification and legal operation.Assist in the development of the yearly budget and control expenditures, working within the parameters of approved Township budgets.Provide supervision and direction to all airport staff.Document and provide detailed and up to date records and reports of airport activities.Establish and maintain proper procedures and guidelines for handling hazards, concerns, and emergency situations.Ensure all runway and other aircraft movement areas are maintained in accordance to state regulations and standards.Oversee all fuel sale operations, providing records of sales, and ensuring maintained supply.Ensure airport is properly maintained in all weather conditions, and all equipment and facilities are in good working order.Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The Town of The Pas also offers an excellent benefits package.A complete copy of the Airport Manager job description is available upon request.
