Our Edmonton Location is seeking an experienced Operations Manager, Base/FBO to support our growing and diverse operations, reporting to the Managing/FBO Director.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and directs Ramp/Fuel Supervisors on all aspect of ground operations
  • Oversees ramp/fuel daily activity, in conjunction with supervisors, QA/QC and Fleet Maintenance Control.
  • Discusses, coordinates and strategizes efficiencies within the operations with the FBO Director.
  • Works in conjunction with the Fueling Supervisor for the inventory control management of Aviation Fuel Products.
  • Works with supervisors to insure that training and record keeping system is in place and maintained.
  • Manages the Safety Management System (SMS) and Reporting System at the base, in coordination with the FBO Director and Safety Manager.
  • Develops training & operational programs & manuals, qualifications records and local ERP in coordination with FBO Director.
  • Assists with recruiting and scheduling for Ramp/Fuel Agent positions and oversees any revised scheduling, due to scheduled and unscheduled absences.
  • Communicates with various customers, contractors and the Airport Authority as required.
  • Provides crew coaching as required.
  • Issues POs for operations purposes when required.
  • Manages budget for the base in coordination with the FBO Director.
  • Provides/prepares quotations for Ramp/Fuel Service for contracts in coordination with the FBO Director as required.
  • Maintains Weekly Rack Rate of Aviation Fuel Product Adjustment.
  • Creates operational memos and local policies in coordination with the FBO Director.
  • Improves the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organizations mission in coordination with the FBO Director.
  • Communicates with HDQ for various types of operational matters including HR issues when needed.
  • Communicates and works with FBO Director and all supervisors in YEG, VP of Fuel Ops, QA/QC Manager, EFC Fleet Manager and HR.
  • Maintains a servicing program for GSE in conjunction with the Fleet Manager
  • Manages Crew Uniforms ordering and inventory control and issues Uniform Vouchers to each ramp/fuel agent, while overseeing the voucher program.
  • Manages various types of Company Audits and post-audit procedures.
  • Other duties as required.


Qualifications/Experience:

  • High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Post-Secondary diploma or degree specializing in Aviation or a technical field preferred.
  • Previous working experience in the aviation industry with direct working knowledge of operations in an airport facility.
  • An understanding of ramp and fuelling procedures is an asset.
  • 5 or more year's previous management experience with proven leadership abilities.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with clean drivers abstract.
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
  • Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
  • A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal skills, to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team.
  • Good financial and business awareness.
  • Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills.
