•Responsible for
planning daily flight operations following safety and efficiency standards
consistent to passenger comfort and on-time performance.
•Exercise and
maintain joint responsibility with the Pilot in Command for operational control
in all matters affecting safety of flights following C.A.R’s.•Assure that appropriate personnel are informed of significant changes in flight status such as delays, diversions or cancellations, aircraft substitutions. •Initiate operational flight information and time limited decisions by accessing computer to gather and interpret information. •Maintain effective communication between all Operations departments; base staff/managers and other departments to minimize flight delays and day-of-flight schedule integrity. •Analyze and review information to assure availability of crews and aircraft for scheduled and charter flights. •Perform other duties as directed by Chief Dispatcher or Director of Operations. Prerequisites: •Preference will be given to those who have written and passed both Transport Canada Flight Dispatch Generic Exams (FDMET, FDOPS) •Minimum 21 years of age, as required by Transport Canada. •Must have strong team building skills and the ability to be a team player as well as work independently when necessary. •Able to work under tight constraints and under stressful and/or emergency situations. •Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English Language. •Willing to work shift work. •Must pass a criminal background check in order to obtain Airport Security Pass •High school diploma or equivalent. •Valid driver’s license. •Proficient in Word and Excel. Working Conditions: This is a 24/7 operation. Dispatcher position is shift work including days, evenings and weekends. Hawkair is an equal opportunity employer.
