EFC is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable aviation professional to support our growing and diverse operations as Base Director at our Calgary location. The Base Director will be responsible for the overall day to day, safe, efficient and effective operations management of our Fuel, FBO & Industrial Charter Terminal Facilities at Calgary.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of EFC’s Base Fuel & Industrial Charter Operations at YYC.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the FBO, Fueling Operations, Industrial Charter Terminal and Facilities at YYC.
  • Ensure all regulatory and legislative & industry standards are met.
  • Provide direction to YYC Mangers and staff.
  • Oversee all fueling operations, providing records of sales, and ensuring maintained supply.
  • Oversee Industrial Charter Terminal Operations at YYC.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budgets, control expenditures, work within the parameters of approved budgets.
  • Document and provide detailed and up to date records and reports of Base activities.
  • Develop and maintain plans for the promotion and marketing of the EFC’s Base at YYC’s.
  • Develop long term equipment and facility plans for the Base.
  • Establish and maintain proper procedures and guidelines for handling hazards, concerns, and emergency situations.
  • Conduct regular inspections & audits of the Base, Fuel Facilities & Equipment, identifying and rectifying any hazards or concerns identified.
  • Ensure Base is properly maintained in all weather conditions, and all equipment and facilities are in good working order.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationship with; all customers, senior management, tenants, leaseholders, community members and other key stakeholders.
  • Act as an ambassador for the EFC attending to functions as required.
  • Efficiently and effectively respond to or direct customer or public inquires and concerns.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Post-secondary education is an asset in the areas of Business Administration or Aviation Management combined with and/or minimum 10 years of escalating levels of responsibility related to aviation, FBO or Fuel management experience.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership capabilities.
  • Highly developed understanding of industry regulations, standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge & experience with aviation fueling a must
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work with competing priorities and to strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with multiple software applications.
  • Past marketing, accounting and budgeting experience.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer focused and service driven
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain an YYC airport RAIC (security clearance)
