Position: Equipment Operator, Kirby Lake

Job Purpose
Aerodrome Equipment Operator will ensure all facets of Runway Maintenance are completed based on weather conditions and flight schedules. The Operator will be responsible for the daily upkeep of the Aerodrome facilities, machinery, and will assist in the training of ramp personnel. Will report directly to the Aerodrome Manager.

Scope of Work - Aerodrome (CRL4)
- Aerodrome Operational and Field Maintenance
- De-icing Aircraft/ Ordering stock
- Aircraft Fuel delivery, bulk storage and tracking systems
- General Maintenance and Support Services
- Training and Manuals
- Safety
- One Time Performance
- Ongoing Training of Ramp Personnel
- Scheduled Maintenance on Equipment

Role and Responsibilities
- Equipment Operator will be directly responsible for overseeing ramp operations and making timely decisions regarding any operational issues.
- Equipment Operator will assist in the training of new and current staff, and be involved with development of training records and documentation.
- Will handle any required maintenance needs in regards to equipment, and shall continually update scheduled and unscheduled maintenance into a comprehensive tracking system.
- The Equipment Operator will be directly responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the Runway and Ramp surfaces based on all weather conditions.
- Operator will continually track commissary, and provide the Manager with a weekly list of items in need of purchasing.
- Equipment Operator will report directly to the Aerodrome Manager regarding any deficiencies, operational issues, and Safety related items.
- Actively support the company’s Safety Management Program by participating in the program
- All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Post secondary education or equivalent aviation experience and education.
- Supervisory experience.
- Industry Canada Radio Operator’s Certificate
- Ability to hold a Transport Canada airside security pass.

- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to react quickly to ever changing operations.
- Safety minded
- Class 3 license with air brakes, and heavy equipment experience.


Salary: As per the North Cariboo Air Payscale
