SOCC Operator
Garda World provides several security services at the Edmonton International Airport. Currently we are looking to fill 1 Security Operations Control Center (SOCC) operator positions. 24/7 shift work Note- Only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
Description:
The following is an overview of the specific post duties associated with the SOCC position. This is not an exhaustive list and additional duties could be added: • Routinely perform visual patrols of the terminal building using the camera systems. • Perform and document 2 to 3 high priority camera checks per shift. • Receive reports of criminal/security incidents and pass the information on to the appropriate responders. • Monitor access control system for any unauthorized or suspicious activity. • Assist RCMP or other law enforcement agencies with any active investigations through CPIC support, camera work, etc. • Initiate emergency response procedures for any incident at the airport by sending out 3n notification and informing appropriate responders. • Monitor emergency line from the airport fire hall when the fire hall is vacant. • During an emergency response, pass information from responders onto the necessary parties. • Monitor all panic alarms and help phones. • Dispatch security to any doors in alarm, panic alarms, parkade help calls, elevator entrapments, etc. • Monitor Thorguard system and initiate fan-out procedures in case of a red or amber alert. • Provide support to EIA staff and clients by retrieving and analysing archived footage of incidents such as airside infractions or injury to an individual while on airport property. • Provide footage to CATSA of level 5 baggage searches when no passenger is present to witness. • Take RCMP front counter/phone complaints and inquires from the public and dispatch accordingly. • For operators that are properly certified, assist RCMP with PROS files and CPIC maintenance such as adding/removing stolen vehicles/items, warrants, lost/stolen RAIC’s, and confirming subjects with warrants. • Assist RCMP with any administrative tasks if available. • Monitor EIA fire alarm system. • Monitor CATSA panic alarms and direct lines. • Distribute EIA runway reports to all recipients. • Monitor person trap intercom. • Complete additional duties as per the Site Management Team or Airport Duty Manager.
Special Requirements:
-Successful candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance -MUST be able to obtain an RCMP civilian employment clearance -strong computer skills -abstract awareness of enviornment and activities affecting it -exceptional customer service skills -able to multi task and prioritize activities / attention -Demonstrated ability to work with initiative, motivation and minimal supervision -Strong attention to detail and organizational skills -Must have excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills -The ideal candidate will have a history of taking initiative and achieving desired results within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
