The GTAA is currently recruiting a full-time (37.5 hours/week)
permanent Terminal Coordinator, Slots and Capacity Allocation - (14-ABD-001)
Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Slots and Capacity Allocation,
this position is responsible assessing and allocating terminal capacity, by
using gate, checkin counter and inspection agency models. This process
considers the International Air Transport Association (IATA) World Wide
Scheduling Guidelines in order to approve operational times for planned
aircraft arrival and departure slots
Accountabilities:
- · Evaluation and maintenance of the initial IATA seasonal schedule (summer and winter) for all planned flight activity at the airport.
- · On ongoing basis handles and processes requests for slot changes throughout each season by assessing them against runway & facility capacity constraints, as well as inspection agency demands against available capacity to verify and find operational times for each slot. Total request processed by the department exceed 1.2M per calendar year.
- · Produces biweekly counter allocation assignments in Terminal 3.
- · Coordinates the new entrant process for air carriers.
- · Calibrates all capacity allocation tools to reflect existing and future phases of resource availability such as updating data on gate and check in counter availability during construction and associated commissioning and decommissioning of gates and check in counters.
- This position also backs up the Business Analyst position and in that role is required to provide US Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) with thrice weekly staffing plans, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) & Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) with estimates of staffing using schedule data, prepare seasonal prepayment and adhoc security deposit schedules semi-annually or as required for Finance, conduct On Time Performance (OTP) analyses and update the rule base for current operational systems used by the Resource Management Unit (RMU).
- Qualifications:
- Diploma from a post-secondary institution in aviation related field or equivalent work experience in aviation operational environment and in analysis of large databases;Minimum of 4 years of airport experience with an emphasis on passenger flows, gating and terminal operations combined with overall airport knowledge. Terminal 3 related experience would be a valuable asset as would knowledge of IATA Worldwide Scheduling Procedures. Database Administration Experience. Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Airport
or airline operations experience that will contribute to the ability to
conceptualize all airport operational phases when considering the processing of
passengers and the resulting airport capacities (Terminal 3 operational and /
or planning experience considered a valuable asset).
· Expertise in resource planning in a
multi-functional technical environment.
·
In-depth experience with aircraft scheduling and
the different airport resource utilizations.
·
Database administration, including knowledge of
complex Standard Schedule Information Manual SCR messages.
·
Ability to conduct research, organize and
prepare reports of results and ability to clearly communicate them orally and
in writing to internal and external entities such as the external runway slot
coordinator and air carriers.

Demonstrated ability to work well in a results
oriented team environments with ability to work under stringent time deadlines.
·
Good understanding of the airport/airline
business and I.T. processes; excellent problem solving skills and adaptability
/ flexibility are also required.
·
Network of airline contacts would be highly
valued.
·
Advanced experience using Microsoft Access,
Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
