Pacific Coastal is currently recruiting temporary, full-time 2 Ramp / Cargo Attendants - one in Port Hardy and 1 in Bella Bella

We are looking for 2 Ramp/Cargo Attendants for the summer season. These positions will be for the Bella Bella and Port Hardy bases. The applicant will be stationed at one of the bases and then will rotate through the other base as is operationally required. Accommodation at the company facility will be provided, however food will be the responsibility of the applicant. Travel between bases for work will be provided.

Basic Job Function

The Ramp / Cargo attendant attends to all activities associated with the ramp, freight, baggage and operation of company ground equipment. This includes but is not limited to shipping/receiving of freight, baggage loading/unloading, marshaling of aircraft, towing of aircraft, aircraft grooming and operation of ground equipment. Fueling of aircraft may also be required and will be offered depending on the applicant’s prior experience. The fueller position offers an additional wage of $2 per hour.

The Ramp / Cargo attendant is responsible for ensuring that all customer interactions are treated with a high degree of customer service. In addition, those customer possessions are handled with care and concern, while ensuring a professional and safe work environment for all customers and personnel. 

Skills, knowledge and abilities:

• Experience in customer service, warehousing, shipping and receiving
• Must have effective customer service and interpersonal skills and ability to handle stressful situations
• Ensures that paperwork is in order and submitted on time

Requirements:

• Must have at least a valid class 5 driver’s license, preference will be given to those with a valid class 4 unrestricted license (or Class 1 or 2)
• Must be effective in oral and written skills as well as basic math skills
• Works well unsupervised
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and will assist passengers in and out of aircraft as required.
• Is able to work shifts and can withstand a work environment that can be subject to exposure outdoors during inclement weather conditions.
