DIRECTOR OF FLIGHT OPERATIONS

As the Director of Flight Operations, you will you will report directly to the CEO and provide overall direction to the company flight operations department for the safe and efficient operation of all company aircraft. You will be responsible for managing, directing, and evaluating all matters pertaining to flight operations including all operational programs and regulatory compliance.
With your experience in leadership, direction and effective communication, you will foster a teamwork environment, ensure optimal information flow with all flight operational staff, and assist in team building initiatives. You must be able to meet the requirements of CASS 725.07(2)(a)(1) of the Canadian Aviation Regulations and be approved by Transport Canada.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing direction to the Chief Pilots and Flight Attendant Manager ensuring all flight crews are familiar and aware of regulations and procedures pertaining to their duties.
- Ensuring compliance to applicable legislation and serve as liaison between regulatory bodies.
- As a senior leadership member of our team you will be responsible for providing guidance, mentoring, and support in management duties, such as; recruiting staff, performance reviews, corrective action, etc.
- Responsible for preparation and management of flight operations annual budget.
- Assessing and determining the need for new equipment and providing general direction regarding equipment requirements.
Considered an asset to have held a license for one of our aircraft types (ATR-42; 1900 C&D; King Air 200; Jetstream 31), as well as have a minimum of three years experience with a commercial operator of similar size and scope. You will bring experience in regulations and safety management systems so as to effectively guide safe operations while focusing on continuous improvement.
