Each year BCAC awards several scholarships to students in Airport Operations and in Airline and Flight Operations! The scholarships are a wonderful show of support by the aviation industry and recognize students who have demonstrated a solid academic performance in addition to leadership, teamwork and participation in the industry. Students have the opportunity to showcase their skills through a range of volunteer activities, practicum experience and in the classroom.
Please click on the link in the Labels section on right-hand side bar to see examples of some past awards winners from the two programs. (Scholarships and Awards)
The process for student nominations is already well underway, with final submissions due to the BCAC Adjudicating Committee by August 31. The final awards will be presented at the annual Silver Wings Awards ceremony on October 30th at the Vancouver Convention Centre - mark your calendar now to attend this exciting event.
All students hold BCAC student memberships and are eligible to nominate an industry colleague for an award. BC is home to some exceptional aviation professionals, so please make sure you take the time to nominate a person or an organization for special recognition! Categories include Aviation Entrepreneur of the Year, William Templeton Award, BCAC Environment Award, Robert S. Day Trophy, Back and Bevington Air Safety Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award (won by instructor Lynne Dennison Foster in 2011) .
