We are currently looking for a Lead for our Cargo department in Iqaluit. This is a unionized position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to Cargo Agents on an ongoing basis.
- Support new hires prior to Initial Training as required.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings to inform agents of specific duties.
- Address and resolve any procedural or communication concerns that resulted in customer service failures as required.
- Manage daily Duty Roster; ensure shifts and duties are covered for the days operation as well as next day operation.
- Ensure Cargo Agents are communicating in a timely manner with local Airport Operations to ensure on time performance in Cargo Dispatching.
- Monitor/ ensure completion of daily reporting is completed accurately and on time for Canada Post and daily inventories.
- Monitor loading on ramp to ensure cargo load priorities are maintained and to provide guidance in load restriction situations.
- Provide support to fellow employees in Irregular Operation situations
- Conduct call outs to cover overtime or cover off IROP situations
- Ensure Cargo Agents have properly completed their daily accounting and administrative functions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist manager with ensuring all outdated Un-manifested Air waybills and Air Waybills requiring POD are actioned and followed up in timely and effective manner by Customer Service Agents.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills
- Grade 12 education
- Experience in customer service in an Air Cargo Environment (ideally 2+ years)
- Ability to develop and implement new processes and procedures
- Ability to demonstrate high levels of customer service and provide leadership and mentorship to Cargo Customer Service Agents
- Highly organized and effective communicator in stressful and time sensitive situations
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to obtain an airside driver’s license.
- Able to complete Ramp Services Training.
- Knowledge of Cargo loading priorities
- Knowledge of Load securing and Aircraft limitations
- Shifts may include weekends and statutory holidays
- Must have a clean criminal record and be able to obtain RAIC (restricted area pass)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with no stipulations
