G4S has been selected by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) to secure critical elements of the air transportation system, and for the delivery of airport screening services including passenger, hold baggage and non-passenger screening for Vancouver and the Pacific Region.
We are presently recruiting for the following opportunity:
Regional Manager (North Pacific)
This role has full responsibility for the passenger screening operations at Terrace, Smithers, Prince Rupert, and Sandspit airports; and has 3 Service Delivery Managers (SMD) reporting in.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES, but not limited to:
•Responsible for ensuring efficient and effective scheduling of staff and management
•Responsible for assigned KPIs to meet operational and divisional targets and goals.
•Acts as the first point of contact for CATSA operational management and other parties at the site
•Ensures that screening operations are compliant with SOP’s on a daily basis
•Monitors service levels and reports on changing needs
•Supervises, coaches and develops SDMs
•To ensure staffing and management levels meet operational needs of each site
•Ensures efficient staff and management deployment to meet service delivery requirements
•Ensures proper time and attendance tracking minimizing payroll discrepancies
•Compiles required reports for senior management.
•Assists SDMs in dealing with complaints, security incidents, etc
•Owns assigned portfolios within the region
•Accountable for the monitoring and coaching of SMDs
•Actively monitors operational performance and supports SDMs
•Builds and maintains strong customer relationships with staff, union, client and stakeholders.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
•College or University Degree
•Minimum five years work-related experience in a Supervisory role, preferably in the Aviation / Security Industry
•Demonstrates ability to work effectively with various employee groups and builds partnerships at all levels of the organization
•Ability to conduct progressive interviews and assign duties accordingly
•Demonstrated ability to negotiate
•Ability to use office software programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint,
•Understanding of rotational shifts and site schedules
•Ability to attend and resolve to incidents after hours
•Knowledge of relevant security and employment legislation
•Experience in unionized environment
•Experience in client relationships
•Strong communication skills
•Must be eligible to apply for Federal Secret Security Clearance
