Employee Health and Wellness Advisor
G4S - Vancouver, BC
We are presently recruiting for an Employee Health and Wellness Advisor 

The Advisor plans, creates, implements and maintains the health and wellness initiatives; evaluates and provides recommendations regarding health and wellness initiatives. Receives workplace injury reports; explores return to work accommodations working with LR Advisor and Union; develops and implements employee wellness initiatives. Promotes Stay at Work initiatives and programs; promotes healthy living and provides support to the employees on health related matters.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES, but not limited to:
Facilitates and coordinates with Managers, Union representatives, Labour Relations Advisors and third parties to ensure timely and safe return to work of injured and ill employees;
•Provides assistance and guidance to managers and union on all forms of accommodations;
•Participates in the development, implementation, promotion and evaluation of the Stay at Work program for ill and injured employees;
•In collaboration with medical practitioner/s or third party assess employee skills for viability for alternate work accommodations;
•Liaise with EFAP service provider to ensure the needs of employees and families are met;
•Obtain usage stats from EFAP provider and develop preventative programs as necessary.
•Develop community relationships in the service industry to determine treatment and counseling for substance abuse and other socio-economic services.
•Works with Labour Relations Advisors in the development, implementation and monitoring of the Attendance Management and Stay at Work programs.
•Files workplace injury reports with WorkSafeBC; and corresponds with WCB Representatives and employees while an employee remains off work or while in the process of returning to work on a MRTW/ GRTW,
•Represent the company during WCB appeals / tribunals hearings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
•Five years professional experience in disability management
•Knowledge of WCB processes
•Strong communication skills both written and verbal
•Ability to relate to staff on all levels
•Ability to encourage and motivate people
•Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be flexible when working on multiple projects simultaneously
•Available to travel within the Province of BC less than 10%.
