Reporting to the Manager, Business Performance Analysis and Reporting, this position is responsible for developing and generating reports, identifying trends, validating processes and recommending improvements and potential efficiencies. The successful incumbent will be required to support various business units, both internally and externally, through daily, monthly, semi-annual and ad hoc analysis reports i.e ‘One Off Analysis’, in addition to maintaining the relevant databases. 12 Month Term:
Key Accountabilities:
- Collect and analyze data through various tools and methods i.e. Flightstats, BLIP, CATSA web service, CBP web service and Manual data collection
- Maintain data collected and store stored in SQL server
- Develop, compile and issue daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports e.g. wait times in CBP, CATSA, CBSA and ‘on time performance’ and validate processes
- Provide suggestions such as Data Collection Processes and Reported Information for improvements to processes
- Identify trends, validate processed and recommend improvements or potential efficiencies as it pertains to
- Support various business units in ad hoc analysis
- Other Duties as required
Job Requirements Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary degree /diploma in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or Business
- Demonstrated advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications
- Certifications i.e. SQL, Visual Basic are preferred
- Experience in analytics and data mining
- CPA Designation is considered a strong asset
- Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Business Intelligent (BI) tools
- Knowledge of statistics and predictive models
- Understanding how to use Microsoft office products with advanced skills in Excel and Access
- Knowledge of SQL & Visual Basic.net programming
- Ability to effectively to work independently and in teams
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to problem solve with an strong understanding customer behavior
- Ability to work in teams in order to solicit concept/ideas/processes from stakeholders
- Ability to communicate ideas and concepts to others who may not have to same knowledge
- Ability to present ideas and presentations to various levels of management within the organization
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to analyze data and provide insights to the meaning of the information gathered
- Ability to understand the data that is available and provide information relevant to the questions being asked
- Ability to identify areas to improve processes/methodology/reporting
- Ability to develop initial assessment of solutions/answers for review independently
