Kelowna Flightcraft is currently recruiting a Cargo Operations Coordinator for Toronto.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting to the Cargo Operations Manager, the Cargo Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and tracing incoming and outgoing shipments and ensuring timely and accurate delivery to the Customer. During the assigned shift, the Cargo Operations Coordinator oversees the entire system network.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITY
Cargo Handling
• Responsible for load planning
• Responsible for payload finalization and documentation
• Ensure proper shipping documentation (e.g. bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill, customs clearance, etc.) is available and/or prepare when required.
• Coordinate the daily activities of the ground crew in packaging, on-ground movement, loading, unloading, securing, and balancing
• Ensure effective execution of all warehouse and terminal operations during the assigned shift
• Provide direction to and coordinate activities of suppliers during the assigned shift
• Ensure all work is being performed safely
• Coordinate with government authorities
• Ensure regulatory compliance
• Coordinate and ensure compliance with ULD requirements and regulations
• Coordinate and ensure compliance with air shipping cargo regulations such as dangerous goods and perishables.
• Set up and coordinate ADHOC flights
• Set up and coordinate COMAT shipments
• Collaborate with oversees partners
• Collaborate with Sales Team
Air Operations
• Oversee the activities of the ground crew in marshaling and tethering of aircraft
• Coordinate with Base Maintenance Supervisor and Dispatch
• Support Flight Crew as needed
Customer Relations
• Ensure the highest level of Customer satisfaction
• Ensure Customer timelines are met and provides timely updates of changes
Financial
• Reconcile airway bills & flight manifests
• Provide reconciliation to Finance Department
Other
• Create daily shift report for Cargo Operations Manager and Cargo Operations Coordinators.
Any other duties assigned by the Cargo Operations Manager.
As this is a new position, the listed tasks may be subject to change.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Cargo Operations Coordination or Airline Operations Coordination
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in International Cargo Operations
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Air Cargo Operations
• Demonstrated knowledge of IATA Air Cargo laws and regulations
• Understanding of customs and security regulations
• Proven experience with shipping documentation (e.g. bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill, etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with cargo booking software
• Native English speaker or minimum 80% score on IELTS English Exam
• Foreign Language (French or Dutch) would be an asset
