Company: Skyline Helicopters. www.skylinehelicopters.ca . The company was established in 1996 and they are specialized in vertical reference longline mountain operations with a focus on oil & gas, forestry and heli-skiing sectors. The company employs an average of 20 people. They are headquartered in Kelowna, BC, and have a satellite base in Terrace, BC. The fleet consists of four Bell 212 HPs and an Agusta A119KE Koala.

Role: Operations Manager, reporting to the CFO, Roger Reid, and working very closely with the Chief Pilot and other pilots.

Location: Skyline Helicopters Head Office at the Kelowna International Airport.

Responsibilities: We are looking for people who are adaptable, have a comprehensive skill-set, and a can do attitude. The main focus of the role is managing and constantly improving the companys helicopter operations and flight procedures by always maintaining the highest of safety standards and levels of client service, and generally contributing the overall success and growth of Skyline Helicopters as a business.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications:
Must comply with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) requirements as per Transport Canada, specifically with standard 723.07(2) pertaining to Air Operator Certificate (Air Taxi- Helicopters).
Past helicopter piloting experience is preferred but not required.
Holding a validpilots licenseis not essential, but would be an asset
Post-secondaryeducationin businessis an asset.
Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge ofCanadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
Experience in asenior management role in the helicopter industryis highly preferred, such as: Chief Pilot; Operations Manager or Assistant Manager; Base Manager; etc.
Excellent leadership and mentorship abilities.

Responsibilities:
Canadian Aviation Regulations & Commercial Air Service Standards (CARs/CASS)
Control operations and operational standards for all helicopters operated by the company.
Organize, supervise and maximize the efficiency of company flight safety, company flight watch, flight crew roster and scheduling.
Implement and maintain effective safety management policies and procedures for company flight operations, as well as policies and procedures ensuring effective coordination of crew scheduling, load control, aircraft scheduling, and maintenance.
Update and maintain the content, production, supervision, and amendment of the Company Operations Manual (COM).
Liaise with all regulatory authorities having jurisdiction on matters concerning company flight operations, including any variation of the Air Operator Certificate.
Coordinate operations logistics to support the crew schedule.
Keep crew members informed of any changes to the regulations and standards.
Participate in the company Health and Safety Committee.
General Management
Ensure that all pilots are scheduled appropriately and maximize productivity, as well as work with the team to create metrics and processes to improve work flow and to measure performance.
Interview, hire, train, motivate, supervise, and discipline all direct reports as necessary.
Audit internal company procedures, policies, and expenditures to protect against inefficient or fraudulent practices on an ongoing basis
Report unsafe working conditions and resolve as appropriate in-line with the Safety Policy
Sales & Business Development
Assist with various sales activities as required, including: analyzing contracts, establishing rates, preparing proposals and contracts, and preparing logistics for charters.
