Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting full-cycle recruitment including: establishing requirements; building applicant pools; developing comprehensive sourcing strategies; designing recruitment processes; managing candidates; evaluating candidates; and negotiating offers
- Coaching managers on recruitment and selection issues
- Coaching employees on the recruitment process, providing feedback to employees on interview performance and leading interview/recruitment workshops both internally and externally
- Developing and implementing recruitment strategies that are aligned to the business plan
- Overseeing the Diversity and Employment Equity Program including: preparing annual report for ESDC; executing on initiatives identified in the Employment Equity Plan; participating in industry events and initiatives; and participating on the Employment Equity & Diversity Team
- Leading other projects, within HR and corporate-wide, as required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum of five years’ experience leading recruitment in a corporate environment, preferably in a broad range of fields, with a proven ability to build and maintain talent pools and pipelines
- At least two years of recruitment experience in a unionized environment
- Clear understanding of today’s labour market and demonstrated skills at developing recruitment strategies that support business requirements
- Working knowledge of employment standards, human rights/duty to accommodate and Employment Equity legislation with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proven ability to build solid relationships and work collaboratively with subject matter experts in various fields and at all levels within the organization up to and including senior management
- Proficient with MS Office and comfortable with spreadsheets/data analysis, ATS (experience with Taleo TBE preferred) and HRIS
- Demonstrated project management skills with proven experience leading projects
- Proven experience managing multiple tasks and competing demands in a high volume environment within tight timelines
- CHRP designation is an asset
