Reporting to the VP & General Manager, the Station Manager is responsible for a safe, smooth and efficient operation of ASIG Canada Ltd. – fueling. The Station Manager performs an instrumental role as a leader in building and managing all facets of the Station Operation on a day to day basis. In this position, the Station Manager must ensure operational procedures are conducted in a safe, efficient and professional manner. Provide senior leadership and maintain positive relationships with the direct reporting staff (Supervisors), the font line workforce, our customers and local authorities. The candidate must have several years of experience in all aspects of managing a large workforce and fuel and tank farms. The ability to prepare and analyze Station budgets, as well as workforce planning on an ongoing basis is a must. Previous experience in the aircraft fueling field at a Management level will be essential to the selection of the successful candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the key objectives outlined for all fueling services
- Participate in the hiring, training and management of station employees
- Develop a strong, reliable and dynamic management team
- Co-ordinate, implement and oversee environmental and quality control policies, as well as training and safety programs, ensuring compliance with all related programs of our various airline partners
- Participate in the development and management of business plans and budgets for fueling operations, which in turn support corporate strategic plans, financial forecasts and key performance objectives
- Assist and represent the management team at any employee collective bargaining agreement or employee association discussions and develop effective personnel management strategies required to ensure a high level of labour productivity in a unionized workforce environment
- Remain close to the front line team to ensure any issues that arise are addressed as best as possible in a timely fashion to solidify workforce job satisfaction
- Represent The Company at a local level and liaise with various client airline partners and be willing to develop strategic plans in conjunction with our airline partners
- Represent The Company at a local level with external agencies such as Regional Airport Authorities, Canada Customs, US Customs, Airport Fire Fighter Departments, Regional Airport Security Authorities, CATSA, various internal and external airline audits, etc.
- Understand the various seasonal demands of The Company's airline partners and be able to establish cost effective manpower strategies to accommodate those seasonal demands
- Provide insight and guidance to the Corporate Executive Management Team on process changes and/or innovations you feel will in turn improve The Company's operational performance, profitability and team satisfaction
- Assist in the development and management of future endeavours undertaken by The Company at the Airport
- Represent the station at any functions, both internal and external as required or reasonably requested by The Company
- Travel to and participate in corporate team building and strategic development meetings with other Company Management personnel as required from time to time
- Be willing to assist with operations when reasonably requested, at any other current or future Company location as may be necessary from time to time
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- One-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience in management
- In-depth knowledge of air carrier fueling and safety requirements
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Able to enhance internal and external customer relation skills
- Proficient with computers and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
Selection Criteria: Salary will be determined based on experience. Recommendations required by current manager/employer. Selection will be based on candidate qualifications, company requirements and individual assessment results.
