Cougar Helicopters Inc. presently has an opportunity for a Ramp and Security Supervisor at the St. John’s base. The successful candidate will ensure safe and timely handling of helicopter flights departing from and arriving at Cougar heliport locations and vessel transfers per customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Supervision of Ramp/Security, Immersion Suit, Cargo Control and Vessel Facilitating staff • Security Screening of Passengers and Baggage • Acceptance, Processing and Security Screening of Cargo, including Dangerous Goods • Processing, Preparation and Loading/Unloading of Baggage and Cargo to/from Helicopters • Storage, Issue and Handling of Passenger Immersion Suits and associated Safety/Survival ancillaries • Briefing of passengers and escort to/from Helicopters • Security and general cleanliness/tidiness of Heliport locations & Passenger/Cargo processing areas. • General aircraft cabin preparation • Close liaison with: o Area Operations & Service Delivery Manager (AOSDM) regarding all Passenger Movement Centre (PMC) activities o Senior Ramp/Security Supervisor regarding all Ramp/Security activities o Daily Operations/Traffic Supervisor, Traffic and Check-In staff regarding flight/vessel schedule(s) o PMC Quality Assurance/Customer Support regarding quality and customer related matters o Facilities Manager regarding building infrastructure issues/requirements o Customer Logistics Reps regarding passenger/cargo issues as required • Assistance to Traffic/Check-in as required and other duties assigned by AOSDM • Completion of staff annual performance reviews as required
Qualifications:
• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident • 2-4 years experience in the field of Fixed and/or Rotary Wing Aviation Logistics/Operations • 3-5 years recent experience in a supervisory position • Strong Supervisory and Leadership Ability • Committed, highly adaptable and have the ability to learn new skills quickly and train others • Flexible, resourceful and capable of producing rapid decisions and solutions • Extremely reliable and successful whether working independently or as part of a team • Skilled planner with a high degree of attention to detail • Capable of organizing personnel and prioritizing work in high pressure environments • Committed to a strong safety culture • Clean Code of Conduct • Clean Drivers abstract
Must already possess or qualify to obtain within 30 days of employment (at Cougar expense where applicable): • St John’s International Airport Authority Security Pass • AVOP – Airport Vehicle Operator Permit • IATA Dangerous Goods Operator • X-Ray Scanner Operator • WHMIS Qualification • Forklift Safety Course
