BCITSA Career Services News Letter

BCITSA Career Services reminds us to "take advantage of your free time (this summer) by expanding your skills and volunteering! Volunteering will get you get noticed by potential employers, help your resume to stand out, and show you are a person who not only gives back but that you are passionate about what you do. Through volunteering, you can explore organizations and positions that you might be interested in working for, and you will learn transferable skills that will be useful in future working environments. Taking the initiative to volunteer can lead to an expansion of your network, through which you could possibly secure a paid position in the future, and you can develop strong references to be used for your future job search. Volunteering will set you up with related work experience, transferrable skills and reliable references – all of which can help you land your dream job! Career Track has many volunteer opportunities specifically for BCIT students and alumni."
