Job Description
Pacific Coastal Airlines has an exciting new opportunity as the Business Development Manager for our Islands Region, which encompasses Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii and Campbell Island.
The Business Development Manager is entrusted with Pacific Coastal Airlines brand and reputation and is therefore expected to maintain the highest standards of professional and personal conduct and integrity at all times. This position will contribute to overall revenue and will serve locally and regionally as the primary liaison for community relations and will be responsible for market growth, seeking new business opportunities and building and maintaining excellent relationships with customers, key stakeholders, industry groups and employees. The successful candidate will source, prospect and close opportunities and deliver high sales support to increase Pacific Coastal Airlines revenues while maintaining and growing existing relationships with clients. In this role you will develop and conduct company presentations to potential clients, provide quotes and negotiate sales contracts. The Business Development Manager will share responsibility for charter sales and will assist with cargo product sales as required.
Reporting to the Director, Sales and Marketing, the successful candidate will represent Pacific Coastal Airlines at community events, professional or community associations, local, provincial, federal government, First Nations, outreach events including networking events, tradeshows and exhibits and other functions and events as required. This means there is significant travel including other regions as required. This will involve weekend and evening work as well as regular travel.
Administration functions will include creating and delivering weekly, monthly and annual reports, responding to email and phone requests, attending meetings and assisting with the collection and analysis of market data, strategic planning and product development.
SELECTION CRITERIA
A degree or diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business Management, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, or Commerce will be an asset. Extensive sales administration experience or an equivalent blend of education and business related experience.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 3-5 years' sales experience
- Proven sales track record with excellent written and oral communications skills
- Comfortable with public speaking and presentations
- Experience in business administration and sales is required
- Excellent knowledge of various computer applications and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Demonstrated experience working at a colleague working level with professional groups, government agencies, special interest groups and service providers
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask in a deadline driven environment and results oriented
- Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast paced, demanding environment
- Able to work in team environment and independently
- Valid BC Driver's license is required
- The ideal candidate will reside on Vancouver Island and have intimate knowledge of the social, economic, and political drivers within the communities in their region.
