Reporting to the Manager, In-Flight Services, this position supports the cabin safety program at Porter Airlines through oversight of cabin safety standards, training, and documentation. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the compliance of the Porter Flight Attendant Manual, Initial, Annual Recurrent,
- Requalification and any further cabin safety training programs with relevant regulatory
- requirements.
- Monitor the compliance of aircraft equipment and crew members with cabin safety
- standards and AOSH requirements
- Research and develop any required cabin safety training including new aircraft type
- training programs
- Supervise overall performance of designated Inflight trainers
- Introduce newly approved cabin safety training programs and monitor trainers on course
- delivery, objectives and standards (pursuant to CASS 725.124(4))
- Conduct investigations of AOSH-reported hazards, complaints and hazardous
- occurrences
- Monitor proficiency of cabin safety trainers and their adherence to required standards;
- ensure the effective use of training equipment
- Participate in the Porter safety management system
- Participate in periodic departmental meetings
- Any other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree and/or acceptable combination of education, training and/or related
- work experience
- Familiarity with commercial flight operations
- Strong knowledge of cabin safety and aviation occupational health and safety
- requirements (e.g. CARs, CASS, AOSH Regulations, Personnel Training for the
- Assistance of Persons With Disabilities)
- Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills; keen attention to
- detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and internet applications
- Ability to secure restricted airport security clearance
- Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel when required
