New Posting - Telus, Flight Operations

Position Overview:

TELUS’ Flight Operations team has a part-time, contract opportunity consisting of a 3-4 day work week, two weekends per month on–call and vacation coverage for 6 weeks per year. Flexibility of working hours will be required. Rate is $250/day (approximate annual salary of $50,000).

Responsibilities include:
• Flight following of our aircraft in a Type C operational control system via satellite tracker and sat phone
• Communication with company executive assistants and department heads to determine their needs vs flight team’s operational abilities
• Creating manifests and trip sheets using online flight scheduling software
• Arranging operational provisions for our passengers
• Arranging operational provisions for flight crews
• Recording flight duty times and statistics relating to our aircraft fleet and crew members 
• Performing daily office duties
• Aircraft grooming

Required Qualifications:
• At least 1 year flight dispatch experience in a (CARS 604) Type C operational control system 
• Related experience within a flight operations department is an asset
• Good working knowledge of general computer and software applications (Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel)
• Ability to effectively multi-task during high pressure situations in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Strong interpersonal skills establishing respect and credibility through actions
• Ability to communicate in a clear, accurate, concise and professional manner
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Strong prioritization and organization skills
• Commitment to delivery of superior customer service
• Experience in exercising discretion and sound judgment when dealing with confidential information
