Assistant Station Manager
First Air - Kuujjuaq, QC
Duties and Responsibilities Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • In conjunction with the Station Manager, manages the station(s) to ensure adherence to on-time departure, optimum resource allocation and customer satisfaction
  • Manages and provides functional guidance and supervision to all service providers at the airport(s) both internal and external
  • Build a work culture that costs, quality assurance and customer satisfaction are key areas to drive efficiency
  • Ensures the airport operations', which includes ramp and cargo, performance is in accordance with regulatory, company and customer requirements
  • Monitors station performance on a daily basis against KPIs and SOPs and initiates corrective actions to improve results
  • In conjunction with the Station Manager, is responsible for compliance with Stations controls and Internal Audit standards
  • In conjunction with the Station Manager, is responsible for preparation of expense and revenue budges; cost and revenue analysis and overall station cost effectiveness
  • Active member of the First Air Emergency Response team
  • Assist the Company in local marketing and sales activities
  • In conjunction with the Station Manager, is responsible for managing the relationship with all stakeholders at the airport (authorities, vendors, suppliers, government agencies, etc.)Participate in the First Air Emergency Response team, Occupational Health and Safety and other committees as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
  • Grade 12 education minimum with a post secondary degree in relevant areas of study considered an asset.
  • 3 years practical airline experience or equivalent work related experience and 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of passenger services, airport operations and procedures and an understanding of cargo & ramp policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations an asset
  • Budgeting experience an asset
  • Familiar with Weight and Balance procedures, cargo security screening regulations and aircraft ground handling
  • Must possess strong leadership, mentoring and coaching skills
  • Superior operating knowledge of Sabre computer systems
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, PowerPoint, Excel and Word would be an asset
  • Must possess superior customer service skills
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills for internal and external customers (written and spoken)
  • Must have solid organizational skills, problem solving abilities, decision making and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Possesses a solid understanding of the business and customer environment
  • Bilingualism is mandatory
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
