Airport Operations: - Establish goals, objectives, policies and procedures, consult with all airport stakeholders. - Liaise with the airport community through committees and other industry associations. - Market, coordinate and negotiate air service, land use and concession development; present recommendations and presentations to City Council. Manage Contracts (6)- Airport Security, CATSA, Airport Policing, Parking, Building & Technical, Airport Ambassadors. - Review operational impacts; ensure effective airside, ground transportation, parking and air terminal building systems meet the needs of the public.
Airport Compliance with Aviation Regulations: - Fully understand draft legislation and proposed regulatory impact to the airport. - Ensure the airport meets its certification obligations. - Represent the airport at Canadian Aviation Regulatory review process meetings. - Ensure operating procedures are written and comply with or exceed regulatory requirements; manage annual Transport Canada certification inspection programs.
Safety/Security/Environmental/Emergency Response/Emergency Preparedness: - Plan, organize and control the security and aircraft rescue and firefighting services through leadership of reporting managers. - Ensure emergency plans, security plans and safety plans are in place to meet regulations and airport needs. - Test and assess the emergency, safety, environmental and security plans.
Manage Budget: Contributory and Primary Responsibility: ~$60M Final spending authority: Airport Director - Understand the business relationship between the organizational revenues and expenditures. Critically examine costs to ensure per passenger costs are as low as possible when compared to other airports. - Negotiate fees with stakeholders and implement. Establish capital costs on projects.
Manage Human Resources: - Direct Reports - 4, Departmental Reports - 28. - Responsible for assigned staff through planning, recruitment, selection, orientation, training, development, motivation, empowerment, teamwork, promotion, transfer, termination, replacement and succession planning. - Labour/Management Committee coordinator for Airport.
Job Summary/Basic Function: The Airport Operations, Senior Manager is assigned key functions relating to overall operations management of the airport and is accountable for results, outcome and regulatory compliance. To accomplish these responsibilities the incumbent independently undertakes activities while utilizing teamwork through designated municipal, financial, human and physical resources.
