Coordinator, Training and Certification (YVR)

Hiring salary range: $66,590 to $75,733 plus performance pay.

Summary of responsibilities: 
Reporting to the Manager, Regional Performance , the Coordinator, Training and Certification is responsible for coordinating the implementation and delivery of the National Training and Certification Program (NTCP) and ensuring data integrity for reporting. The Coordinator, Training and Certification performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.

Regulations, Policies, Procedures, Programs 
  • Coordinate the implementation and delivery of the NTCP including all administrative functions as well as the on-going professional development of screening officers. 
  • Coordinate the program administration including forecasting, scheduling and planning of training and certification sessions. 
  • Ensure timeliness of session delivery and the efficient sequencing of the training program while optimizing Learning and Performance Advisors’ travel requirements and class roster size. 
  • Maintain the data integrity of the Learning Management System (LMS) for program delivery including tracking and reporting participants’ training and certification activities. 
  • Monitor and resolve operational issues through direct client service support, reports and surveys for both internal and external clients.

  • Develop and implement effective and efficient program processes and procedures. 
Qualifications: 
  • Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects; 
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances; 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail; 
  • Strong communication skills, both in writing and orally; 
  • Ability to write and present information in a clear and concise manner; 
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints; 
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment. 
Required skills: 
Essential 
  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in Office Administration, Project Management or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position; 
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in program administration or project management; 
  • Experience coordinating large scale complex programs on a national basis; 
  • Proficiency in MS Office; 
  • Knowledge of LMS; 
  • Experience providing customer service and resolving customer complaints; 
  • Experience in developing business processes and procedures. 
Valuable 
  • Experience in monitoring programs, identifying trends, conducting data analysis and summarizing data; 
  • Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislations impacting CATSA; 
  • Knowledge of the aviation industry and the related regulatory and security issues. 
Specific work requirements 
  • Ability to work overtime as required; 
  • Ability to travel as required; 
  • Language Profile: English essential 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; 
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
