The Vancouver Airport Authority has an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Commercial Real Estate Contracts Clerk in the Legal Services Department.  Reporting to the Director, Legal Services & Legal Counsel, the successful candidate will carry out all tasks in connection with the preparation, management and administration of leasing contracts with the real estate portfolio.  Working with legal counsel and internal clients, he/she will work on leases from initial contact through the negotiation process and to completion. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Drafting commercial lease agreements, vendor contract and related documentation 
• Carrying out all tasks in connection with the legal management and administration of all leasing contracts within the real estate portfolio including effectively managing volume and meeting timelines
• Performing administrative tasks to support Legal Services
• Providing assistance to the leasing representatives with respect to legal issues and identifying potential issues related to risk management of contracts

Key qualifications include:

• Completion of a bachelor’s degree is required; paralegal certification is considered an asset
• Minimum five years’ experience in commercial leasing a law firm or legal department is required (real estate and/or leasing experience is an asset)
• Knowledge of lease documents and procedures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with internal and external contacts
• Ability to work both independently and effectively within a team
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and managing changing priorities
• Proficient in MS Office Suite 
• Experience with property management software is an asset
