Reporting to the Supervisor, Customer Service the Customer Service Ambassador provides additional assistance to Porter passengers as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide assistance to Porter Special Service Customers including wheelchair passengers to/from aircraft including to/from the “City Side”
- Assist our passengers who have special needs (e.g. escorting unaccompanied minors, guiding people with visual impairments)
- Move and lift bags onto/off of baggage belts; push baggage carts as required
- Greet and provide general airport directions to passengers with the Porter refined experience and customer service excellence
- Handle line control during peak check-in times and assist with Kiosks
- Act as a Welcome Ambassador for our arriving passengers at YTZ Airport
- Assist with stocking passenger café
- Groom the aircraft to ensure excellent passenger experience
- Assist with newspaper management and distribution in the lounge
- Transfer and distribution of baggage carts between mainland and Island
- Transfer and distribution of wheelchairs in terminal/gates and Island
- Assist with re-stocking check-in and gate positions
- Bilingual students to assist with making French boarding announcements
- Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
- Other Duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of customer service experience is an asset
- A positive and passionate personality, with the natural ability to communicate with people
- Experience working in a team dynamic under stressful and busy situations
- Flexibility to work shift work within the 7 days of the week – early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays
- Able to lift up to 60 lbs/27 kgs repetitively
- Ability to obtain and maintain full security clearance to the airport
- The Passenger Service Ambassador role is a highly physical one; agents are required to be on their feet for long periods of time
