Working with our internal and external stakeholders, the Airside Superintendent - Airside Safety Escort Program assists in directing airside activities for this critical division of Securiguard's Safety and Security Operations for the YVRAA Airside Safety Escort Services Contract.
The role of the Airside Superintendent is to provide oversight for all Airside Safety Escorts. This may involve management over teams of Airside Safety Escorts providing services at multiple sites across the Airport Facility.
Currently we are accepting applicants to join YVR Airside Safety Escorts division.

Job Requirements:
- Coordinate with Airside Safety Escort Operations Coordinator to ensure that sufficient levels of trained and certified escorts are available to fullfill the airside operational requirements at any given time
- Liaise with Airport Authority's operations and engineering staff, as well as the various contract service providers, to ensure that airside projects satisfy all operational safety and security requirements
- At the direction of the Program Administrator to provide safety briefings to unionized staff
- Provide guidance on aviation safety and security matters ensuring compliance with regulation, legislation and company specific policies
- Responsible for conducting site reviews and develop audit / review reports, reviewing findings, and making recommendations to the management
- Responsible for training new employees and recurrent training foro existing employees in various operational changes as they become available
- Provide leadership, advice and counsel to Airside Safety Escort Program on safety and security policy and practices that include but not limited to SMS, Incident Response, Report writing and Access Control.
- Manage issuance of all equipment and uniforms for the department
- Ensure resources and equipment is approriately and efficiently allocated
- Ensure staffs maintain mandatory and regulated training and certifications
- Maintain an understanding of construction methodologies, aircraft movements, airside traffic directives, operational procedures and assessing locations and heights of equipment in relation to runways and taxiways
Work Experience:
- Minimum three years' experience in an airport environment, preferably in an analytical capacity, or two years' experience in airside operations at a Class 1 or 2 Aerodrome
- Enthusiastic and committed approach with a track record of building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
- Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills
- Sound judgment and decision making skills, with a "hands on", problem solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents
Working Conditions:
- Majority oftime working outdoors
- Up to 8 hours of work each day, determined by operational requirements
- Availability to work evenings and/or weekend work
- On-call 24/7 for Operations support on critical issues during Snow Ops
- Operate vehicle for daily duties
Requirements:
- Valid Security License issued by the Province of British Columbia
- Valid Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- Valid D AVOP
