Senior Representative, Food and Beverage Programs

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Development, Food & Beverage, this position is responsible for relationship and category management including fostering and managing the new and continuing business relationships for existing food & beverage partners in order to deliver improved ASQ scores in applicable food & beverage categories - variety and value for money; establishing processes and methodology to ensure category reporting is delivered consistently; working with the retail analyst to prepare presentations that (i) determine if airport value for money is comparable to off-airport, (ii) quantitative impacts - determine revenue sales performance of program, and (iii) qualitative impacts – guest service and satisfaction improvements.

Job Description
• Relationship and category management including: fostering and managing the new and continuing business relationships for existing food & beverage partners in order to deliver improved ASQ scores in applicable food & beverage categories - variety and value for money; establishing processes and methodology to ensure category reporting is delivered consistently;
• Developing pricing strategies, monitoring market-basket items and prices ensuring both are relevant to Toronto Pearson and identifying potential off airport services with relevant product scope for comparison
• Working with business partners on the development of customer service strategies and operational excellence as it relates to airport programs
• Managing and conducting public tenders and requests for proposals; preparing tender and proposal documents; consulting with external and internal stakeholders (including potential proponents) in the preparation of strategic implementation plans; evaluating, recommending the awarding of food & beverage contracts; and implementing new initiatives to drive organic growth
• Identifying trends and researching new revenue generating opportunities for management review and consideration through the development of detailed discussion papers and business cases. Ensure compliance and enforce policies and protocols
• Identifying systemic issues requiring a course of action to address and correct non-compliance with the tenants;
• Identifying opportunities for policy changes/enhancements; researching industry best practices in food and beverage; drafting policies/protocols for management review and recommendation
• Participating in the negotiation of leases
• Preparing information and presentation requirements to support these activities; preparing draft leases, licenses and contracts
• Preparing and presenting revenue Forecasts, budgets and monthly variance analysis reports for use by the Senior Manager, Food & Beverage. Prepares detailed analysis of contracts based on past and projected performance, identifying trends in airport concessions and noting operational changes at the airport
• Performs other duties such as special projects, assignments and reviews requiring the incumbent’s unique skills and experience; Sits on GTAA committees as required
• Other related duties as required

Job Requirements
Qualifications: 
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, retail management, commercial property management or other related field
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in retail management, or commercial property management or commercial leasing
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in customer-account service/relationship management, managing and/or implementing work plans, overseeing the work of consultants and contractors, dealing with multiple stakeholders
• Must have a fully satisfactory work performance in his/her current position and a work record that is void of discipline and unacceptable attendance that would have a bearing on the duties, roles and responsibilities of the posted position
• Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
• Must have experience managing and implementing programs that yield positive growth
• Building work plans that deliver on program objectives
• Knowledge of negotiation strategies; food & beverage plans and strategies
• Knowledge of commercial contracts/leases including terms and conditions
• Knowledge of computer software operations (word processing, spreadsheet and database; ability to analyze revenue and pricing information and data)
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and facilitation skills
• Effective relationship building skills
• Ability to apply diplomacy in conflict scenarios
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change; and is a self-starter
• It is preferred that the successful candidate is an early adopter of food & beverage trends; is familiar with or demonstrated interest in Toronto food culture; and has a working knowledge of Autocad and/or Microstation Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of airport operations related to food & beverage concession management and development at the airport and the airport industry, GTAA policies and procedures relating to retail & concessions is an asset
