Reporting to the Manager, Regulator Audits, the Safety and Regulatory Auditor is responsible for auditing North American Airports and IFS Bases yearly for compliance with regulatory and safety regulations and standards – as per CARs, SMS, IOSA, and the Canada Labour Code Part II. They are also responsible for auditing third party suppliers as per regulatory standards. Conduct audits in each part of the branch (In-Flight Services, Ramp and Passenger Services, Baggage, Ground Support Equipment, Security and Environment) including third party suppliers where required to meet regulatory, safety and IOSA standards Organize and prepare for the audit with team members Ensure audit questionnaire is relevant to the station’s business Engage the stations in the audit; distribute pre-audit questionnaire; ensure the station is familiar with the audit process. Support and/or take responsibility for communication with audit team & station/base manager regarding changes, scheduling, confirm participation. Input audit findings in EtQ Reliance system for investigation and corrective actions. Report consistently and efficiently on audit results during the audit, at the audit closure and following progress reviews. Share audit results with the station/base & supplier as required; provide honest, unbiased and open communication on performance results. Identify, communicate and follow-up for timely closure of the critical findings requiring immediate action Keep record of audit results to facilitate the tracking of findings, observations and identify best practices Observe safety improvements and deficiencies in the operations; bring recommendations Through the audit process, ensure a reasonable sample size, and impartial observations. Track and trend audit results – identify repeat findings and develop solution to address repeat findings Be knowledgeable of the regulatory requirements. Keep abreast of changes Align auditing method and processes with peers; provide input in the development of performance targets as required, requirements for new tools, etc. Act as an auditor or as a lead auditor as required Support the Manager Regulatory Audits in developing the audit check-lists including audit questions, sample size, identify critical & non-critical findings; support with other planning tasks to ensure success of the Audit team. This may include establishing & communicating the audit schedule, prepare & secure people, dates, etc. Audits are inclusive of: In-Flight Service bases in Canada; Airport stations in Canada & USA where there are ground handling operations for either Above the Wing and/or Baggage and Ramp and are conducted by Air Canada personnel. Audits are also required for third party suppliers who provide an essential service to Air Canada. Qualifications Accreditation in Quality Auditing and Quality Management (ASQ, CQMgr, CQA, CQE, CQT) Ability to travel frequently and work irregular hours, including weekends when required. Team player with strong work ethic and ability to work independently. Demonstrate leadership skills with the ability to influence. Presentation skills. Self-starter, customer focused and results driven. Good knowledge of Airport and or In-Flight Service operations an asset Analytical abilities for creative and innovative analysis and problem solving.
