Operations Resource Planner – Operations Department (Term)
Vancouver Airport Authority - Vancouver, BC
The Vancouver Airport Authority has a full-time, term opportunity for an Operations Resource Planner in the Operations Department. Reporting to the Manager, Operations Center, the successful candidate will create and maintain the Airport Operations shift schedule to ensure adequate staffing levels at all time.

Key responsibilities include: 
  • Plan, input, and review activities as they relate to Airport Operations staffing levels on a short and long term basis including the integration of training requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate records for Operations staff. This includes; training, employee status and seniority, as well as leave taken and available.
  • Tracking and organization of all departmental training; ensure all staff are scheduled to attend all required training courses
  • Building a yearly shift schedule for Operations based on management’s requirements.
  • Forecast staff coverage requirements that relate to departmental and corporate training.
  • Liaising with the Human Resources department for employee schedule changes to ensure hours remain balanced.
  • Other duties include but are not limited to:
  • Review of staff leave requests;
  • Shift trades and time sheet submissions in preparation for sign-off by Airport Operations Management;
  • Preparation of documents and materials as required for presentations or reports that involve staff coverage and leave;
  • Ensuring current and up to date records of all resource related activity;
  • Responding to schedule requests in a timely manner.
  • The successful applicant will be required to provide backup for the Operations Program Analyst position.
  • Provide support to Operations managers and employers on new HRIS (Human Resource Information System); time/attendance and schedule systems.
Key qualifications include: 
  • Completion of a one to two year post-secondary program or equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of resource planning in a unionized environment.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with Excel, Kronos timekeeper and Advanced Scheduling.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Solid organizational and analytical skills
