Employment Opportunity Cargo Agent - 1 Full-time and 1 Part-time Position Wage: $14.00 (or commensurate with experience) Hours of Work: Permanent Full-time (35-40 hours per week); Part-time (20-34 hours) Location: Vancouver International Airport Closing Date: Thursday, August 4, 2016 In the hold of every flight you’ll find cargo, and it’s just as important to us as each and every passenger we carry. From pets to flooring, groceries to snowmobiles – and even the kitchen sink – we’ve flown it all. Not only are our Cargo Agents responsible for loading and moving cargo, ensuring that manifests and load-planning documents are ready – they’re also a critical part of our front-line staff, and work to ensure that customers have the best possible experience. In addition to the above, duties include: Work with the rest of our skilled Cargo team to ensure our day-to-day operations are efficient and that our customers enjoy their experience Complete air waybills and manifest documents, and label freight for shipping Completing transfer documents if required Calculate available aircraft load and prioritize freight Organize freight to ensure efficient loading on to the flight Verify received freight piece counts and notify receivers of freight shipments Ensure accounting requirements are satisfied before releasing freight Qualifications/Conditions of Employment Minimum 18 years of age Valid Class 5 Driver’s License Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP) within three (3) months Previous shipping/receiving experience an asset Minimum two (2) years of front-line customer service experience Basic accounting skills and/or experience processing payments Excellent English communication skills Proven time management and organizational skills Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel and databases Demonstrated ability to work as an effective and reliable team member Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 40 pounds repetitively Able to operate a forklift Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays Most importantly, a good sense of humour and likes to have fun We’re grateful to all applicants for their interest in joining us.
