Senior Advisor, Project Management
Number of Openings: 1 Employment type: Fixed-Term (2 years) Location: Ottawa Hiring salary range: $79,764 to $94,650 (a premium of 4% will be paid on each salary payment in lieu of vacation) Language requirement: Bilingual (BBBB) *Eligibility List: CATSA will use this opportunity to establish a list of candidates eligible to fill subsequent vacancies. Summary of responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the position will include:
- Provide project management support for the CATSA Plus National Implementation program.
- Manage project master schedule and major milestones associated with assigned CATSA Plus National Implementation project.
- Identify, track, and provide mitigation strategies for project risks.
- Ensure project is conducted within CATSA’s project management framework.
- Coordinate, schedule and monitor the receipt, shipping, delivery and installation of all CATSA Plus Lanes and screening equipment requirements.
- Review all airport technical submissions and respond to each submission with formal “Technical Review” and “Financial Review” documents, listing submission deficiencies and recommended corrective actions.
- Maintain ongoing program support to resolve emerging issues, raise concerns, and identify areas for improvement relating to the screening of passengers and baggage.
- Engage airport authorities on CATSA Plus Technical Guidelines to clarify technical and operational requirements.
- Review Airport Authorities’ project technical proposals for compliance to CATSA Plus National Implementation Guidelines and provide recommendations.
- Coordinate and facilitate internal CATSA resources and associated external project participants to ensure business rules are defined, approved, implemented and enforced.
- Review all financial documents, including funding applications, contracts, purchase orders, reimbursement applications, budget submissions and forecasts, for accuracy and supporting documentation.
Qualifications: Essential
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in engineering, business administration, business management, project management or another speciality relevant to the duties of the position;
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience scheduling, planning and managing large-scale projects that include the delivery and installation of heavy and complex pieces of equipment;
- Knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of project planning, estimating and budget and contract management;
- Knowledge of principles and practices of shipping, delivery, installation and site preparation.
- Language Profile: Bilingual (BBBB)
Valuable
- Skills and knowledge of project management tools and methodologies;
- Knowledge of the operation of pre-board screening systems;
- P.Eng, PMP, or MCPM (Masters Certificate in Project Management);
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders, including equipment manufacturers/suppliers, and facility owners;
- Experience in the air transportation or security industries;
- Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation impacting CATSA.
