Base Manager Executive Flight Centre (EFC) has been setting standards in aviation fuel and service for over forty years. Our Calgary location is seeking an experienced Base Manager to support our diverse operations. Main Functions:  The Base Manager is responsible for the day to day operations and overall success of this location. This role is expected to effectively and efficiently manage the complement of staff who continuously strive to provide a high level of customer service to our clients. This role is also expected to drive performance through innovation and to drive the growth of the business through strong customer and supplier relationships. The Base Manager will also ensure that the location is in alignment with EFC’s corporate goals and overall business strategy. Responsibilities: Establish the overall vision and direction for the Calgary location which includes passenger handling, ground handling, fueling and many other ancillary aviation services. Develop a work culture and environment of safety, empowerment, teamwork and continuous improvement. Responsible for maintaining and scheduling appropriate staff levels to meet the quality and safety requirements of the operation. Responsible for employee recruiting, performance management and terminations. Establish annual goals for the team and measure performance regularly through key performance indicators; ensure that progress is being made. Assess and update existing business processes on a regular basis to drive efficiencies in the operation and create new processes when required. Responsible for financial performance of the location, including monthly income statement analysis and annual budgeting. Meet regularly with other location managers and senior management and share best practices amongst peers. Manage the morale of the team with strong communications and by leading by example. Provide exceptional customer service to the EFC’s valued clients. Negotiate contracts with customers. Understand and address customer inquiries and complaints. Search for new business opportunities and revenue streams. Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment. Ensure exceptional, courteous and respectful customer service through compliance and participation in the Company’s Step Up to Customer Service Program. Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives. Perform any other duties as required. Qualifications and Experience: Completion of a Post-Secondary diploma or degree in a technical field preferred. Minimum five (5) years previous management experience with proven leadership abilities. Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain an YYC airport RAIC (security clearance) Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes. Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization. Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Professional, punctual, meticulous and diligent. Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
