What will our Quality Assurance Auditor do?
Based out of company headquarters at the Victoria International Airport and reporting to the PSAI Airworthiness Manager, the QA Auditor is responsible for compiling objective evidence by conducting interviews, reviewing documentation, observing activities, performing audits, surveillance, and investigations to determine whether the organization and individuals (management or non-management) are conducting activities in accordance with the applicable laws, regulations, and established policies and procedures.


The QA Auditor is also responsible for performing additional responsibilities in assisting the Airworthiness Manager with activities such as maintenance control and audit corrective action plan implementation and completing any special projects or other tasks as required. You may be assigned to other areas of operations, based on business or customer needs.

Primary responsibilities include:
• Auditing PSAI Transport Canada and other regulatory approvals, including the AMO, FTU, Private Operator, and Simulator departments. 
• Conducting scheduled and unscheduled surveillance of the training unit, air operator, maintenance operations, sub-contractors, repair facilities, contract and on-call maintenance, aviation parts suppliers and manufactures for compliance with PSAI Policies and Procedures and the Canadian Aviation Regulations
• Evaluating internal maintenance operations for adequacy of facilities, equipment, procedures and overall management to ensure safe, effective and compliant operations
• Coordinating investigation and reporting of incidents of non-compliance and non-conformance.

Specific accountabilities for the role include:
• Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
• Performing audits, assisting with root cause analysis, completing reports, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
• Examining records and interviewing workers to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with laws and regulations.
• Assisting in the development and support of the PSAI Safety Management System
• Conducting aircraft and ground equipment damage investigations
• Being knowledgeable in and observing all TCCA regulations and PSAI AMO policy and procedures;
• Ensuring that all activities are controlled per PSAI procedures and performed in accordance with the OEM latest instructions;
• Completing records of audits performed to sustain an accurate and complete audit system;

What are we looking for in a Quality Assurance Auditor?
To excel in this position, you need to be prepared to deliver outstanding service by having:
• Formal training as an auditor
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience as an auditor
• Valid Transport Canada E, S, M1, or M2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence an asset;
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experience an asset in performing or auditing maintenance activities on any of the following types: BE30, DHC-6, DHC-2, PA31, C182, C172 or similar types
• Experience an asset in performing or auditing maintenance activities on PT6-34 and PT6-60 engines, and Wipline Amphibious floats
• Ability to work flexible work hours - statutory holiday, evening, and weekend work may be required
• Ability to travel to operating locations will be required from time to time 
• Proficiency with the full suite of Microsoft Office programs
• High energy level and customer service orientation
• Effective in a collaborative environment and be an engaged team player
• Excellent judgment, strong ethics, and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
