JOB TITLE : Supervisor, Lineservice REPORTS TO : Director, FBO Operations YYZ JOB PURPOSE : To provide active leadership to the Lineservice teams on a daily basis, while overseeing and observing all aspects of ramp operations. This role will ensure exceptional compliance of procedures and corporate standards are maintained while providing the highest level of safety and customer service, in support of achieving or exceeding the company’s corporate objectives. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES : To foster a safe work environment and a culture based on the guiding principles of the organization: Ensures the effective implementation of all safety standards and programs as well as compliance security, safety regulations and SOP’s; Actively trains new hires, initiates annual recurrent training, and accurately maintains training records Participates in information gathering for occurrence report investigations & closings; Ensures the prevention and investigation of all Lineservice occurrence reports including notifying the applicable authorities (fuel spills, security infractions, etc.); Ensures all personnel respect and adhere to the company security and code of conduct policy; Leads by example – performs duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety for co-workers and customers. To ensure the delivery of high quality and efficient lineservices to clients: Delivers a high level of service to customers in accordance with the Skyservice philosophy, ensuing quality control, regarding the SOP, safety and security matters of ramp and facility operations; Addresses concerns of the external clients as they relate to line operations; Supervise operational activities on the ramp and adjacent Aprons including anti-icing operations, in conjunction with the Airport Authority and neighboring tenants; Coaches Crew Chiefs to ensure optimum ramp positioning and hangar stacking, always taking into account the space parameters in the assigned areas; Monitors and councils Crew Chiefs on any operational delays, investigates and follows up with corrective actions; Provides assistance and liaises with Skyservice personnel to provide solutions to the exception problems that internal and external clients present; Acts as a liaison with Customer Service and Maintenance to coordinate the safe and efficient towing and fueling of aircraft; Inspects the ramp for hazardous conditions such as FOD, Ice, and Type 4 over spray Maintains the fleet stock of YYZ vehicles including the sourcing, purchasing, maintenance and licensing as well as ensuring the safety, efficiency and adequate supply of all ground service equipment and fuel; Coordinates all waste removal (hazardous and non-hazardous) from Linecrew and Aircraft Maintenance Operations; Establish and maintain positive rapport/relationships with Imperial Oil, Greater Toronto Airport’s Authority (GTAA) and all other pertinent partners; Oversees the maintenance of log books and fuelling / hangar information to support billing and for quality purposes. To build and manage a high performing Lineservice team: Provides direction, training, supervision, performance management and support to a team of Lineservice personnel, holding employees accountable for delivering on expectations; Leads, supports, coaches and directs the Lineservice Crew Chiefs as well as the Linecrew on a daily basis, providing proper briefings and chairing Crew Chief meetings; Fosters strong working relationships amongst the Lineservice team; Recruits and selects new employees for the team as well as manages the progressive discipline process and terminates employees for non-performance as required; Completes the Crew Scheduling, plotting month to month crew schedules for rotating shifts, vacation plotting and shift switch monitoring while maintaining budget considerations; Oversees OJT training and evaluation programs for Linecrew personnel on customer service and Linecrew standard operational procedures. To manage the inventory and handling of fuel: Maintains an adequate inventory of aviation fuels to meet client needs; Liaises with Shell Aerocentre to whom Aviation Fuel (Jet A-1) is provided via the tank farm; Direct the management of the tank farm for Imperial Oil Ltd; Ensure the daily zero loss control of Aviation fuels at Esso fuel farm and Esso rolling stock inventory in accordance with environmental and Esso product handling standards on a daily basis. To collaborate with others in order to contribute to the achievement of corporate goals: Acts as a liaison with internal FBO Sales, Managed Aircraft Sales and Client Services to ensure optimal client relations and service; Liaises with external FBO Sales, by providing quotations and on aircraft not under a current contractual agreement; Develops a full understanding of the each client’s needs in the interest of maintaining effective relationships; Develops a full understanding of the Maintenance department’s general operations in the interest of maintaining effective relationships; Provides support to accounting (invoice tracking and approval); Builds effective relationships with related external agencies and vendors. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 5 – 7 years’ experience in a supervisory role in Lineservice including intimate knowledge of Aviation/ FBO or Commercial ramp experience; Strong knowledge of AOSM, AFHT, and other programs related to the function; Successfully completed and maintained Esso/ExxonMobil/Premier Care line service and/or fueling training or equivalent; Possess Restricted Area Pass as well as TC security pass clearance; High safety orientation as well as experience with SMS / safety management processes; Superior customer service and interpersonal / relationship skills; Strong supervisory skills including ability to manage, coach and develop performance; Collaborative; Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Products; Flexible to work additional hours and be on call as required as well as ability to work under pressure. EDUCATION: Post-secondary education. A degree or diploma in Aviation or Business Management considered an asset.
