Provide leadership and required below-wing ground support services as contracted by the customer to include but not limited to loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshalling aircraft, water and lavatory services.
Job Responsibilities
- Enforce safety and company SOP’s and report to Supervisor any non compliance
- Marshalling of aircraft during arrival and departure
- Complete Load Reports
- Complete Ground Security Coordinator (GSC) Training
- Securing of overnight (security searches, seals etc.)
- Unload and load passenger baggage, bulk and/or containers onto carts and/or dollies
- Unload and load wheelchairs and child strollers and delivery to designated location
- Provide special handling of luggage/cargo as required/directed
- Deliver passenger luggage to claim area and unload onto conveyor system
- Drive and/or operate ground support equipment to include two tractors, tow bars, belt loaders, container loaders, baggage tugs, water/lavatory service trucks, aircraft ground power units, aircraft air start units, air stairs, baggage carts, cargo and passenger vans.
- Operate aircraft in-plane systems
- Service aircraft water and lavatories
- Assist flight crew as requested
- Inspect ramp areas adjacent to gate and aircraft for debris (FOD) and remove/dispose of when found
- Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager
- Comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport author and carrier security requirements.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Minimum six month ramp experience
- Must have valid drivers license and WAA DA
- Internal and external customer relations and communication skills
- Ability to follow processes and procedures;
- Lift heavy objects that could reach 70 pounds (32 kilograms);
- Work under various climatic conditions.
- Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Overnight shifts may be required during winter operations.
