Vancouver Airport Authority is currently seeking two enthusiastic, professional and experienced individuals to join its community relations team as ambassadors. As a member of the community relations team you will be responsible for delivering YVR’s community outreach program which helps promote YVR’s brand, engaging with the community, growing our reputation as B.C.’s airport and supporting YVR’s strategic goal of 25-million passengers by 2020.


Key Qualifications
  • Outgoing and friendly with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar role with a community or marketing organization or experience in customer service
  • Enthusiastic and energetic team player
  • Motivated and able to take on projects independently
  • Understands the importance of safety, security and confidentiality
  • Diplomacy and professionalism
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities, while staying organized and accountable
  • Work wells independently and within a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and excellence
  • Ability to help with set up and tear down of event materials, including lifting objects of up to 25kg (55 pounds) is considered an asset but not necessary
  • Experience with design and/or media programs is considered an asset but not necessary
  • Class 5 Drivers License, access to a personal vehicle and experience driving large vehicle (Ford Transit Connect) considered an asset but not necessary

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with the local community and represent YVR at various festivals and events throughout the lower mainland
  • Manage the YVR Explorer Tour Program which will include organizing, scheduling and leading tours for Grade 5 students and other community groups
  • Create content for YVR’s communications and social media channels
  • Planning and supporting various YVR events including the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, Canucks Autism Network Accessibility Tour, and Quest Holiday Hamper Drive
  • Provide support to the community relations, marketing and communications teams
  • Other duties, as required
