The eligibility list may be used to staff permanent or fixed-term positions with similar responsibilities and qualifications.  Summary of responsibilities:  Reporting to the Manager, New Technology Introduction , the Advisor, New Technology Introduction (NTI) Program is responsible for delivering Pre-board Screening (PBS) and Hold-baggage Screening (HBS) new screening technology introduction projects and activities in support of CATSA’s operational and capital project plans. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating all deliverables and tasks related to the introduction, certification and operation of new screening technologies at airports across Canada. The key responsibilities include: New Technology Introduction  Implement the new technology introduction program in accordance with CATSA’s technology strategic plan;  Develop project plans, scheduling tasks, milestones, and program reviews for all new technology introduction projects;  Coordinate the development of all new technology introduction deliverables with internal and external stakeholders;  Coordinate new technology trials and general deployment with all stakeholders;  Develop the technical specifications and certification documents for new technologies;  Coordinate the development of the technical documentation for new technology introduction;  Support the development and implementation of processes and procedures for new technology introduction;  Support CATSA’s new screening technology testing and evaluation program;  Coordinate regulatory approval for new technologies;  Engage manufacturers for technology improvements, technical specifications, and performance standards;  Support the change management process and report development;  Maintain program and release cycle views for new technologies;  Partnerships and Stakeholder Relations  Coordinate projects and liaise between CATSA, equipment manufacturers or suppliers and other external stakeholders to introduce or test new equipment, as well as evaluate equipment upgrades and new features;  Participate on special projects to identify and evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of current and new technology;  Build strong networks with a variety of stakeholders in the industry to share best practices, research findings, and maintain awareness of trends and developments in security screening technologies.  Qualifications:  Essential  Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position; A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a technical field with hand-on experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues;  A minimum of three (3) years of experience collaborating with internal or external stakeholders in a technical field;  Experience presenting to various audiences and producing reports for senior management;  Experience coordinating projects and programs, as well as the work of cross-functional teams.  Valuable  Experience with new technology product introduction;  Experience acting as lead or main point of contact for technical or certification testing;  Experience working in a highly regulated technical environment;  Knowledge of security screening technologies;  Experience in project management in a technical field and scheduling; knowledge of project management tools and methodologies;  Project management certification;  Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation impacting the organization.  Required skills:  Ability to clearly articulate point of view to various audiences; liaise effectively;  Ability to analyze problematic situations and provide pragmatic, situation specific solutions;  Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and develop strategies to resolve these issues;  Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;  Strong teamwork orientation;  Ability to work with and understand highly specialized technicians;  Ability to lead and engage others;  Ability to multi-task and identify priorities; strong organizational skills;  Ease with learning new technologies.  Specific work requirements  Ability to work overtime as required;  Ability to travel as required;  Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance;  Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
