Hourly Rate: $19.50
Weekly Hours: 37.5 hour
Duration: 1-Year Contract

Thunder Bay International Airports Authority is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the maintenance and operation of the airport.

In the role of the Marketing & Operations Intern, you will be given support, guidance and resources to build your knowledge and apply your skills.  You will be provided with the opportunity to:
  • Develop, coordinate and execute social media campaigns, digital advertising, brochures and newsletters for airport tenants and customers
  • Plan, organize and execute special events and capital projects with airport security, safety and financial implications
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing plans
  • Review the impact of operational or procedural changes
  • Recommend solutions and new approaches
  • Build and maintain positive customer and client relations
  • Manage ground transportation services
  • Co-ordinate tenant operations in the terminal
  • Manage parking lot operations including automated parking pay stations
  • Learn about the aviation industry and airport operations

Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in business, marketing, airport management or other related fields
  • Demonstrated capabilities with graphic arts software to assist in web-design, e-commerce and social media capabilities
  • Analytical and leadership skills
  • Strong partnership development skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to successfully complete airport industry specific training
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s license


This position is partially funded by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation therefore the following NOHFC criteria must be met:
  • University or college graduates who have graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university
  • Candidates must be graduates of post-secondary or diploma programs
  • The position must provide the intern with first time employment in their field of study
  • Candidates are only eligible to participate in the internship program one time
  • Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
