Pacific Coastal Airlines is currently looking for a permanent full time Maintenance Quality Assurance Assistant. This position is based out of a South Terminal at the Vancouver International Airport.

The Maintenance Quality Assurance Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and organizational support to the Quality Assurance Manager. He/she will be assisting with a wide range of quality control and quality assurance activities such as maintaining and promoting quality awareness, conducting regular inspections and audits, providing an input into existing quality programs, dealing with employee's concerns, complaints and recommendations, maintaining a quality database, etc. 


Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist the maintenance QA Manager with his/her role and responsibilities
  • Provide relief coverage for the Quality Assurance Manager, Records Administrator, and Technical Publications Librarian
  • Maintain a maintenance department Quality and Evaluation Program and improve the department's overall safety and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Act as a company auditor by performing internal and external audits
  • Responsible for training and promotion of the company's Safety Management System
  • Determine the adequacy of training programs
  • Promote a safety culture throughout the department by encouraging hazard identification and incident reporting
  • Identify, report and investigate any deviation to procedures, systems or standards and assist with implementing corrective actions and follow ups
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and safe job procedures
  • Ensure accurate transfer of information from aircraft Journey logbooks to all relevant tech logs and computer tracking software
  • Control component and parts with regard to installation, removal and transfer in all related technical logs and computer tracking software
  • Produce a daily forecast report of the maintenance requirements coming due and alert the Maintenance Control Manager when/if necessary
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Qualifications:
Previous Quality Assurance/ Quality Control experience would be an asset
Transport Canada Maintenance Engineer License would be an asset
Understanding of Quality Management Principles
Knowledge of CARS (Canadian Aviation Regulations)
Experience in completing audits would be an asset

Organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all employee and company matters
Competency with computer programs such as (Web, Excel, Word, PowerPoint )
Able to understand the company policy and procedures detailed in the company MCM and SMS manuals and how they affect the company
