North Cariboo Air is currently recruiting a YXJ Base Manager

The Base Manger is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Fort St. John base and for ensuring a safe and efficient operation.


Accountable For
• Manage effective communication flow between the bases and serves as a liaison between departments
• Liaise with vendors and maintain relationships with the company’s third party maintenance clients
• Oversee customers service standards and ensure a positive passenger experience for all guests
• Ensure the facility is maintained in accordance with company standards, coordinate and oversee repairs and/or upgrades as required
• Manage base staffing levels, including hiring, training and onboarding personnel
• Control expenses and monitor base budgetary levels
• Liaise with airport authority, ensuring that all employees and company practices are compliant with their regulations
• Manage employee performance and address any issues that arise
• Approve employee timecards and ensure that all paperwork is submitted to Payroll 
• Actively supports the company Safety Management System by participating in the program and acting appropriately for their role as defined within the SMS Manual
• Other duties as assigned 


Experience & Qualifications 
• Previous management experience, minimum 2 years; experience in aviation an asset
• Post-secondary education in a business administration, management studies, or equivalent program and/or work experience 
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written form
• Excellent project management skills, ability to complete individual and team assignments within prescribed deadlines
• Experience managing confidential information in a workplace setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Occasional lifting of over 50lbs 
• Eligible candidates must be Canadian citizens (or have landed immigrant status) possessing a valid driver's license 
• Able to obtain Transport Canada Restricted Area Identification Card
