Our K9 Unit is expanding and looking for handlers to join our YVR K9 Operations Team! Our division is an incredibly unique and rewarding opportunity. At Securiguard, we maintain a highly trained K9 Division with teams certified in Explosive Detection. Our Dog Teams are geared for rapid response resourcing to assist our clients with unique challenges in a variety of environments. We Offer:  Competitive salary starting at $21.50 (with performance based increases)  Uniform and equipment provided  Monthly K9 Handler Allowance  Training from Industry and Law enforcement experts Job Duties:  Actively patrol airport facilities to provide a presence and sense of security  Conduct proactive explosives detection K9 searches of key areas  Respond to calls of unattended and suspicious items and apply K9 to seach the immediate area  Provide excellent customer service with a continual focus on client and community relations  Care for the designated K9 as per provincial regulations  Assist and respond to any calls by the K9 Operations Manager for additional service as required  Interior & Exterior Patrols are required, including but not restricted to parking lots, stairwells, hallways, common area facilities  Coordinating & Liaising with Police and other Emergency Services Providers as required Providing detailed reports, occurrence reports, incident reports, and patrol reports are required  Reporting and documenting any safety hazards to the Operations Manager Requirements are (but not limited to):  Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean drivers abstract (must be able to obtain Airport License)  A safe vehicle to transport a K9  Ability to obtain Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and Security Clearance through Transport Canada  The ability to take care of a K9 after hours and live in a friendly environment for a dog  24/7 availability (must be able to work overnights)  Ability to work outside in inclement weather  Strong attention to details with excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)  Desire and passion to work with dogs For further information, or to apply, please click here
