Main Functions:

The Fuel Operations Lead is a ‘hands-on’ position responsible for performing and assisting with the coordination of all facets of fuel operations to ensure they are performed in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. In the absence of the Fuel Operations Supervisor, the Lead coordinates fuel operations activities and employee job tasks. The Fuel Operations Lead also coordinates and conducts the quality assurance processes and activities for fuel operations, vehicles and equipment and works closely with/supports operations of the tank farms.

Responsibilities: 

• Perform fuel operations according to the standards set by the Company, including fuel movement and aircraft fuelling, movement, placement, and storage.
• Prioritize and coordinate fuel operations activities and employee job tasks in absence of the Fuel Operations Supervisor.
• Assist the Fuel Operations Supervisor in communicating, supporting and promoting adherence to corporate, departmental and OH&S policies and procedures for fuel operations.
• Assist the Fuel Operations Supervisor in communicating changes in policy, procedures, products, services, or any other alterations that affect delivery of customer care.
• Assist with troubleshooting issues and address customer complaints in an effective, timely and professional manner, ensuring appropriate resolution for the company and customer.
• Perform and coordinate quality assurance processes and activities for fuel operations:

o Conduct truck and equipment checks.

o Conduct audits on handling, safety and security and implement process improvements and corrective actions as required.

o Comply with all Quality System record keeping and reporting requirements.

• Support and assist with ground handling, ramp operations and tank farm activities as required.
• Assist in determining required supplies and equipment for fuel operations.
• Provide guidance and support to fuel operations personnel.
• Assist with the coordination and provision of new hire and recurring training for fuel operations personnel.
• Assist Fuel Operations Supervisor by participating in employee scheduling, time management and performance feedback.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of fuel operations reporting and administrative requirements.
• Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
• Ensure exceptional, courteous and respectful customer service through compliance and participation in the Company’s Step Up to Customer Service Program.
• Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety programs and Quality Systems.
• Other duties as required.

Education and Training: 

• Must be 18 years of age or older with a High school diploma or GED

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience in the aviation industry in a similar role is an asset
• Class 3Q or Class 1 license
• Airport Security Clearance
• Clean Driver’s Abstract
• First Aid and CPR are an asset
• Ability to work in inclement weather
• Effective verbal and written communicate skills
• Able to work with minimal or no supervision
• Basic mathematical and computer skills
• Troubleshooting skills
• A strong work ethic and positive team attitude
• Ability to work overtime, extended shifts, weekends and general holidays
• Physical requirements include considerable use of your arms and legs, climbing, lifting 60lbs repeatedly, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
