Position: Human Resources Coordinator
Department: Customer Service
Reports to: General Manager of Carillion Customer Service at YVR
General Description:
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a key role within the customer service operations at the Vancouver International Airport. Our team provides exceptional customer care, support and service to assist with the smooth operation of YVR. We are looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources Coordinator to join the company. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded HR professional with experience in payroll and recruitment.
The HR Coordinator is responsible for the hiring of Customer Service Ambassadors, by reviewing cyclical patterns, current staffing levels, and anticipating when and where additional resources may be required. The person in this role acts as a liaison between Customer Service Ambassadors, Supervisors and Management, and can be counted on for his/her professionalism, confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy.

Specific Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Full-cycle Recruitment: identifies staffing needs, creates and maintains all job postings, reviews and selects suitable candidates, interviews, reference checks and establishes new hires
  • Performance Management: support senior management team in performance management and all disciplinary action
  • Recognition Programs: manage various employee recognition programs and assisting and/or organizing and coordination of employee events
  • Works closely with Training Manager to coordinate onboarding and new employee orientation
  • Tracking of all employee hours through EPay payroll
  • Processing adjustments, differentials and lead wages
  • Leads the Health and Safety Committee and all practices and procedures, following up on key action items as needed
  • Administers and maintains all benefits for qualified Ambassadors
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience
  • Scheduling and payroll experience an asset
  • Multi-tasking, the ability to prioritize and maintain collected in stressful situations is a must
  • An ability to work with minimal supervision and a proactive attitude
  • Intermediate level of expertise with Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must have the ability to acquire and maintain RAIC (Airport Security) clearance
